Super Sonic is the powered-up transformation of Sonic the Hedgehog, first introduced in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992) on the SEGA Genesis. By gathering all seven Chaos Emeralds — each a different color — Sonic can absorb their power and become a glowing golden version of himself capable of flight, near-invulnerability, and speeds that leave even his normal form behind.
It's one of the most iconic transformations in video-game history, and it shows up across nearly every Sonic title, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise, and the Sonic Prime Netflix series.
